Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disengage the glove compartment door tabs and allow the door to hang by the hinge.

Automatic Temperature Control Sensor Removal And Installation:






3. Remove the automatic temperature control sensor assembly from the bracket attached to the back of the instrument panel.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the automatic temperature control sensor.
5. Disconnect the aspirator hose from the automatic temperature control sensor by carefully disengaging the elbow latch.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the electrical connector to the automatic temperature control sensor.
2. Connect the aspirator hose to the automatic temperature control sensor. Ensure the elbow latch engages the locking ramp on the sensor.
3. Position the automatic temperature control sensor assembly into the bracket on the back of the instrument panel.
4. Replace the glove compartment assembly.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with Electronic Engine Control (EEC), when the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the EEC processor relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.

6. Check the system for proper operation.
