KB4 - Check CANP Valve For Vacuum Leaks

Canister Purge Valve:

- Key "ON", engine "OFF".

- Canister Purge (CANP) valve disconnected.

- Disconnect vacuum hose at input port of CANP valve.

- Apply 54 kPa (16 in Hg) of vacuum to CANP valve input port.

- Does CANP valve hold vacuum for 20 seconds?

Yes -- Remain in Output State test mode. Go to KB5. KB5 - Check CANP Valve Electro-Mechanical Operation

No -- Replace CANP valve assembly. Remove jumper wire. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
