FCSD Owner Relations Instructs FCSD Field Personnel to Document Engine Non-Availability
In an FCSD Field Bulletin dated March 21, 2000, FCSD field personnel were advised of the availability of newly released Ford Remanufactured engines to support CNP 00M09. This bulletin specified that if servicing FADs are unable to fill dealer orders within five (5) business days, dealers should request the FAD provide a fax back-order slip indicating a replacement engine is not available.
This is intended as proof that a replacement engine can not be provided within five (5) business days and supports dealer efforts to initiate vehicle Trade Assistance actions with local FCSD field personnel.
Effectively immediately, if you cannot provide a Ford Remanufactured engine for your dealer within five (5) business days, please supply the dealer hard-copy notification of engine non-availability. A simple FAX or memo on FAD letterhead including the following verbiage is sufficient:
"We regret that we are temporarily unable to fill your 3.8L engine order associated with Ford ONP 00M09 within 5 business days. Please contact your FCSD CSM for further instructions."
Ford Remanufactured Engines Available for Order
As announced in FADB 00-038, the following Ford Remanufactured engines are now available for order as the only approved engines for replacement under Owner Notification Program 00M09:
FCSD is Anticipating Potential Shortages
Due to the volume of owners affected by this program, FCSD is anticipating potential shortages of 3.8L Ford Remanufactured engines. As result of this potential shortfall, FAD orders will be allocated as follows:
1. Emergency orders first
2. Stock orders, based on production capacity, second

To ensure FAD's have access to the very latest information regarding supplier build schedules and supply availability, FCSD is temporarily establishing a Hotline at 1(800) 325-5621. This Hotline will be in daily contact with the supplier and can assist to answer questions or provide 3.8L engine availability updates to FAD's.
