Coolant Reservoir: Testing and Inspection

COOLANT RECOVERY SYSTEM

NOTE: In the event no coolant is observed in the radiator coolant recovery reservoir or when a coolant level change does not occur, check the system as follows:

1. With the engine cold, remove the radiator cap and inspect the filler neck sealing gasket for foreign material between the gasket and cap diaphragm. Rinse radiator cap in clean water.

NOTE: The radiator cap used on this system is unique, replace only with the proper radiator cap.

2. Remove the radiator overflow hose at the radiator filler neck connection. Remove radiator coolant recovery reservoir from fender apron and flush with clean water.
3. Inspect the radiator overflow hose for obstruction, cracks or cuts. Replace if necessary.
4. Install radiator coolant recovery reservoir and connect radiator overflow hose at the radiator filler neck connection.
5. Replenish the coolant in the radiator and add coolant to radiator coolant recovery reservoir as required.
6. Install the radiator cap.
