REMOVAL



1. When removing spark plug wires from plugs, use spark plug wire remover T74P-6666-A or equivalent. Grasp and twist the boot back and forth on the plug until boot is loose.

NOTE: Pull on boot only, do not pull on wire.

2. Remove boot and wire from plug. When removing wires from the ignition coil, squeeze the locking tabs of coil wire retainer by hand. Twist and pull on boot until free.




INSTALLATION


1. Whenever a high tension wire is removed for any reson from the spark plug, coil or distributor cap, or a new high tension wire is installed, silicone dielectric compound must be applied to the boot before it is reconnected. using a small clean tool, coat entire interior surface of boot with dielectric compound.
2. Insert each wire no proper terminal of distributor cap. Ensure wires are all the way down over their terminals. The No.1 terminal is identified on the cap. Install the wires starting with No.1 terminal.
3. Remove wire retaining brackets from old high tension wire set and install them on new set in same release position. Install wires in brackets on valve rocker covers.
