Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Remove fuel tank filler cap.
3. Release pressure from fuel system.
4. Remove throttle body.
5. Disconnect fuel charging wiring connectors from fuel injectors.
6. Disconnect fuel charging wiring connectors from engine control sensor wiring, oil pressure sender, EGR vacuum regulator control, intake air temperature sensor (unleaded gasoline only), Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor, Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor and ignition coil (Flexible Fuel (FF) only).
7. Remove fuel charging wiring.
INSTALLATION
1. Position fuel charging wiring along side fuel injectors.
CAUTION: Check distance between throttle body and valve cover to fuel charging wiring for clearance at valve cover valley on FF vehicles.
2. Install fuel charging wiring connectors to electronic engine controls.
3. Install throttle body.
4. Verify that all fuel charging wiring connectors are firmly connected.
5. Connect battery ground cable.
6. Check for leaks at all connections.
