Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: The heater blower motor switch resistor and thermal limiter assembly is installed on the passenger side of the heater case behind the glove compartment. Use only the specified heater blower motor switch resistor assembly for service replacement. Do not apply sealer to the resistor board mounting surface.

1. Open the glove compartment and release the glove compartment retainers so that the glove compartment hangs down.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the heater blower motor switch resistor assembly.

3. Remove the two heater blower motor switch resistor retaining screws and remove the heater blower motor switch resistor from the A/C evaporator housing.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, position the heater blower motor switch resistor assembly in the A/C evaporator housing opening and install the two retaining screws. Do not apply sealer to the heater blower motor switch resistor assembly mounting surface.
2. Connect the wiring harness connector to the heater blower motor switch resistor.
3. Check the operation of the A/C blower motor.
4. Close the glove compartment.
