Brake Fluid Pump: Description and Operation
OPERATIONWhen energized by the anti-lock brake control module, the hydraulic pump motor pumps high pressure fluid into the master cylinder, causing the brake pedal to be forced upward until the anti-lock brake pedal travel switch is closed.
With the switch closed, the anti-lock brake control module then shuts off the hydraulic pump motor.
The pump motor speed sensor also provides a feedback signal to the anti-lock brake control module.
CONSTRUCTION
The hydraulic pump motor is part of the solenoid control valve body.
