Column Shift Cable Adjustment, (92-94 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis):

Column Shift Cable Adjustment, (95-96 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Town Car):

1. Loosen adjusting stud nut at transmission shift lever.
2. Place steering column selector lever in Overdrive and hold selector lever in position by placing a 3 lb weight on lever.
3. Rotate transmission manual lever to low (clockwise), then return it two detent positions to Overdrive position (counterclockwise).
4. Align flats of adjusting stud with flats of cable slot, then install cable on stud.
5. Tighten adjusting stud nut and washer assembly. Torque to 10-18 ft lbs.
6. Check shift lever for proper operation.
