Child Seat Tether Attachment: Service and Repair
WARNING:- WHEN USING ANY INFANT OR CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER CONCERNING ITS INSTALLATION AND USE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW EACH OF THE RESTRAINT MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS CAN RESULT IN A CHILD STRIKING THE VEHICLE'S INTERIOR DURING A SUDDEN STOP OR COLLISION.
- IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE BOLT/ANCHOR BE SECURELY TIGHTENED TO SPECIFICATION. OTHERWISE, THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY SECURED, AND THE CHILD COULD BE INJURED IN CASE OF A SUDDEN STOP OR COLLISION.
Installation
The child safety belt anchor tether kit can be obtained at no charge from any Ford or Lincoln/Mercury dealer. To install, follow instructions provided with the child safety belt anchor tether kit.
Tether Attachment Location
Dimension A is the distance from the centerline of the vehicle to the center of the tether attachment holes.
Dimension B is the approximate distance from the center of the radio speaker grille opening to the center of the tether attachment holes.
Rear Window Tray
The right outboard hole is located approximately 292 mm (11.5 inches) from center of the package tray panel and approximately 254 mm (10 inches) rearward from right speaker grille opening.
The center hole is located at the approximate center line of the vehicle, 457 mm (18 inches) rearward from center of the package tray and is approximately 483 mm (19 inches) from right speaker grille opening.
The left outboard hole is located approximately 457 mm (18 inches) from center of the package tray panel and approximately 178 mm (7 inches) rearward from left speaker grille opening.
