Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle Body:

REMOVAL

1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube from throttle body.

2. Disconnect throttle position sensor from fuel charging wiring and accelerator cable at the throttle lever.

3. Remove four throttle body retaining bolts.

4. Carefully separate throttle body from throttle body to intake manifold spacer.

5. Remove and discard throttle body gasket between throttle body and throttle body to intake manifold spacer.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into manifold.

2. Install throttle body, new throttle body gasket and four bolts to the throttle body to intake manifold spacer. Tighten retaining bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).

3. Connect throttle position sensor to fuel charging wiring and accelerator cable at the throttle lever.

4. Install air cleaner outlet tube. Tighten engine air cleaner tube clamps to 2.5-3.2 Nm (22-28 lb in).
