With Analog Instrument Cluster






Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel finish panel retaining screws and remove the instrument panel finish panel.
3. Remove the five knee bolster retaining screws and remove knee bolster.
4. Remove screw fastening transmission control selector indicator bracket to the steering column tube. Detach the cable loop from the pin and cane shift lever. Remove the transmission control selector indicator bracket from the steering column tube.
5. Remove the four instrument cluster retaining screws.
6. Disconnect the instrument cluster connectors from the back plate and remove the instrument cluster assembly.
7. Remove six screws from lens and mask assembly.
8. Remove temperature and fuel gauges from instrument cluster.
9. Remove two transmission control selector indicator retaining screws from speedometer.
10. Remove speedometer.

Installation
1. Install the transmission control selector indicator bracket and cable assembly to the speedometer and install retaining screws.
2. Install the speedometer into the instrument cluster.
3. Install temperature and fuel gauges in instrument cluster.
4. Install six screws retaining lens and mask assembly.
5. Position the instrument cluster to the instrument panel connecting the instrument cluster feed plug, and ensuring the transmission control selector indicator cable is routed properly. Install the four instrument cluster retaining screws.
6. Position the transmission control selector indicator column bracket to the steering column tube (locate pin in column slot) and adjust the transmission control selector indicator as follows.
a. Place the shift control selector lever and housing on the steering column tube in the 1 position.
b. Place the loop on the transmission control selector indicator cable assembly over the retainer pin on the shift control selector lever and housing.
c. Secure transmission control selector indicator cable bracket with screw.
d. Shift the shift control selector lever and housing into the OD position. Adjust the thumb wheel on the steering column tube so the entire width of the pointer falls within the letter OD.
e. When properly adjusted, the entire width of the pointer must fall within the width of the letter OD and must touch the remaining letters or numerals when viewed parallel to the centerline of the steering column tube from the driver's position.
7. Position the instrument panel steering column cover and install the retaining screws.
8. Connect battery ground cable and check the operation of the instruments.
