Traction Control System

Traction Assist (TA) is designed to control wheel spin when accelerating on loose or slippery surfaces. During acceleration, if one or both rear wheels lose traction and begin to spin, the TA system will rapidly apply and release the appropriate rear brake to reduce wheel spin and aid traction. The accompanying isolation valve will also close and the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) pump will run. The isolation valve permits brake operation only to the rear brake of the circuit by closing off pressure to the front brake. If brakes are applied during TA operation, the ABS module receives a signal from the stoplamp switch or the pressure switch and automatically stops TA cycling.
