Clutch Switch: Description and Operation

The Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch indicates to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), load or no load conditions of the transmission. The CPP switch is a two position switch that is closed when the clutch is depressed (no load condition). The PCM will adjust engine idle speed to compensate for the no load condition. The switch is normally mounted on the clutch pedal assembly.
