DSR10 - Vehicle Preparation
NOTE: Correct results of the self-tests are dependent on the proper operation of related non-Electronic Engine Control-V (EEC-V) components.
VISUAL INSPECTION
- Air cleaner and inlet ducting.
- All engine vacuum hoses for damage, leaks, cracks, blockage, proper routing, etc.
- EEC-V system wiring harness for proper connections, bent or broken pins, corrosion, loose wires, proper routing, etc.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM), sensors, and actuators for physical damage.
- Engine coolant for proper level.
- Transmission fluid level and quality.
- Make all necessary repairs prior to continuing with TEST PREPARATION.
VEHICLE PREPARATION
- Apply parking brake.
- Place shift lever firmly in PARK (NEUTRAL for manual transmissions).
- Block all drive wheels.
- Turn Off all electrical loads.
- Is vehicle prepared to run Self-Test?
YES -- Go to diagnostic subroutine 11.0 DSR11 - Retrieve and Record Any Continuous Memory DTCs
NO -- Repeat this step.
