NA4 - Check For IDM Open to PCM - IDM Fault

- Key Off.

- Disconnect PCM. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires. Service as necessary.

- Disconnect ICM from ICM tee, leave EI diagnostic harness connected to vehicle harness connector.

- DVOM on 200 ohm scale.

NOTE: This erases continuous memory, and sets the code P1000.

- Install a second breakout box to PCM vehicle harness connector.

- Measure resistance between J41 (IDM I) at breakout box and Pin 48 at second breakout box.

- Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

YES -- REPLACE PCM. PCM does not respond to IDM input. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- CHECK connectors, SERVICE or REPLACE harness. IDM is open. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
