MC8 - Check For Spout Open to ICM - ICM and PCM Disconnected

- Key Off.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires. Service as necessary.

NOTE: This erases continuous memory, and sets the P1000 code.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- DVOM on 200 ohm scale.

- Measure resistance between J45 (SPOUT I) at breakout box and Pin 50 at the second breakout box.

- Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

YES -- REPLACE PCM. SPOUT is not being transmitted by the PCM. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- CHECK connectors, SERVICE or REPLACE harness. SPOUT is open. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
