HV5 - Check CANP Mechanical Operation - Open Vacuum Position



- Key Off.

- Reconnect CANP solenoid (electrical).

- Disconnect manifold vacuum side of CANP solenoid.

- Apply 16 inHg (53 kPa) of vacuum to the CANP solenoid with a vacuum pump.

- Key On, Engine Off.

- Does the CANP solenoid open and vacuum reading on the pump drop (air passes freely)?

YES -- REMOVE vacuum pump. Go to HV6. HV6 - Check Vacuum Leak Between CANP and Carbon Canister

NO -- CHECK hose from CANP solenoid to canister for blockage or kinks. SERVICE as necessary. If no fault is indicated, REPLACE CANP solenoid. Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
