HE63 - Check DPFE Sensor Output - Apply Vacuum With Hand Pump
- Key Off.
- Disconnect pressure hoses at DPFE sensor.
- Connect a hand vacuum pump to the downstream pickup marked "REF" on the DPFE sensor.
- Key On, Engine Off.
- Access DPFE PID with a Scan Tool. PID voltage should be 0.45 volt ± 0.25 volt.
- Apply 8-9 inHg vacuum to the DPFE sensor. The PID voltage should be above 4.0 volts. Quickly release vacuum from sensor. PID voltage should drop to less than 1 volt in less than 3 seconds.
- Does the DPFE PID voltage Indicate a fault in the DPFE sensor?
YES -- REPLACE damaged DPFE sensor. RECONNECT all components. Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
NO -- Fault may have been recently serviced without clearing DTCs. RECONNECT all components. Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
