HE24 - Inspect EVR Vent For Plugging

- Key Off.

- Disconnect EVR solenoid vacuum hoses.

- Remove EVR solenoid vent cap.

- Remove filter and inspect for blockage or icing in some cases.

- Apply 10 to 15 inHg of vacuum directly to EVR vent with a hand vacuum pump. if the vacuum holds or is slow to release to atmosphere, the EVR vent could be plugged or restricted.

NOTE: A plugged EVR vent will not allow EGR vacuum to vent to atmosphere.

- Is the EVR vent or vent filter plugged or restricted?

YES -- SERVICE EVR solenoid as necessary. If unable to service, REPLACE EVR solenoid. RECONNECT all components. Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- REPLACE damaged EVR solenoid. RECONNECT all components. Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
