Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self Test Description

PURPOSE

The Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self Test performs various Electronic Engine Control-V (EEC-V) functions and scans for expected engine response. The KOER self test examines the fuel system, selected sensors, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system, idle speed control, knock detection system and dynamic system response during normal operating conditions to determine if any problems or malfunctions exist. When a fault is detected, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be output on the data link when requested by a scan tool.
