KA5 - Check Vacuum Hose From EVR Solenoid to EPT

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect vacuum hose between EVR solenoid and EGR Pressure Transducer (EPT).

- Plug one end of the hose and install a vacuum/pressure pump at the other end.

- Apply and maintain a steady pressure through the hose while observing pump gauge needle.

- Does the pump gauge needle show a pressure drop?

Yes -- Remove vacuum pump and hose plug. Replace vacuum hose. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Remove vacuum pump and hose. Refer to Emission Control Systems and check the EPT to EGR valve vacuum path.
