EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) Solenoid Schematic:

DESCRIPTION
The EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) solenoid regulates the vacuum supply to the EGR valve via the EGR Pressure Transducer (EPT). If the EVR solenoid is energized, the solenoid valve opens a path for the manifold vacuum to be applied to the EGR valve via the EPT. If the EVR solenoid is not energized, then the solenoid valve closes the vacuum path to the EGR valve and vacuum is vented to the atmosphere.

NOTE
You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when you have been directed here from Diagnostic Routines.

REMEMBER
To prevent the replacement of good components. Be aware that the following non-Electronic Engine Controls (EEC) areas may be at fault:

- Damaged vacuum hoses

- EGR Pressure Transducer

- EGR valve

This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose only the following:

- EGR Vacuum Regulator solenoid

- Harness circuits: EVR and VPWR

- Powertrain Control Module
