Camshaft: Service and Repair

1. Drain cooling system and remove radiator and grille.
2. Purge refrigerant from A/C system and remove condenser.
3. Remove timing cover, timing chain, and sprockets.
4. Remove intake manifold.
5. Remove pushrods, lifters and oil pan.

Camshaft Installation:

6. Remove thrust plate, then carefully remove camshaft by pulling toward front of engine. Use care to avoid damaging camshaft bearings.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
8. Lubricate cam lobes and bearing surfaces with Oil Conditioner D9AZ-19579-CA or equivalent.
