Clutch Switch: Description and Operation

Clutch Engagement Switch (CES):

The Clutch Pedal Position Switch detects clutch engagement and sends an input signal to the PCM. Adjustments to air/fuel mixture, idle speed, fuel pressure, purge flow and A/C cutoff are made accordingly. PCM uses this input as a factor in determining engine load.
