Lap/Shoulder Safety Belt, Front

The front seat lap/shoulder safety belt extends from a retractor located on vehicle structure underneath the B-pillar. The belt then passes through a sash guide mounted to the top of the B-pillar post. The belt then extends from the sash guide above and behind the occupant's shoulder, directing the belt webbing at the proper downward angle over the occupant's shoulder and chest to lap belt buckle.

The belt has a slip tongue on it that latches to the lap belt buckle and continues through the slip tongue outboard to the sill below the door opening, acting as a lap belt.

The front inboard belt with buckle is secured to the front seat track. Attaching the tongue and buckle secures the occupants with both lower and upper restraints. This tongue and buckle attachment can be accomplished by a single, continuous movement.
