Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair

REMOVE

Throttle Cable Adjusting Nut:

1. Disconnect the cable end from the throttle body plate lever.
2. Remove the adjusting nut.
3. Remove cable routing bracket retaining bolt.

Accelerator Pedal:

4. Disconnect the cable from the pedal lever assembly, inside vehicle, by squeezing the lock tabs together.
5. Disconnect the cable from the dash panel, by squeezing the other set of lock tabs together.
6. Remove the accelerator cable.

INSTALL
1. Position the cable housing into hole in dash panel. Snap the lock tabs into place.
2. Connect the cable end to the pedal lever assembly and snap the lock tabs into place.
3. Install the cable routing bracket and retaining bolt.
4. Install the cable into housing brace near the throttle body.
5. Install and finger-tighten the locknut.
6. Connect the accelerator cable end to the throttle linkage.
7. Adjust the cable for accelerator pedal freeplay and wide open throttle positions.
