Free Play

1. Adjust the idle to specification. Refer to Air Induction/Specifications.

Accelerator Cable Setting Tool:

NOTE: A setting tool must be fabricated as shown to properly adjust accelerator control cables. Thickness of the tool is critical for cable slack.

2. Disconnect cable from cruise control actuator.
3. Slightly loosen cable retaining nuts at bracket on cylinder head cover.

Accelerator Cable Adjustment:

4. Insert setting tool between nut "B" and bracket, as shown.
5. Tighten both nuts to eliminate all cable slack.
6. Loosen nut "A" only enough to remove tool. Do not adjust nut "B".
7. Tighten nut "A" without moving nut "B" Tighten to 7-11 ft- lb (10-15Nm).
8. Adjust wide-open throttle position refer to Ajustments/Wide-Open Throttle. Wide-Open Throttle
