Free Play

1. Adjust the idle to specification. Refer to Adjustments/ Base Idle Speed.

NOTE: A setting tool must be fabricated as shown to properly adjust accelerator control cables. Thickness of the tool is critical for cable slack.

2. Disconnect cable from cruise control actuator.

3. Slightly loosen cable retaining nuts at bracket on cylinder head cover.

4. Insert setting tool between nut "B" and bracket, as shown.

5. Tighten both nuts to eliminate all cable slack.

6. Loosen nut "A" only enough to remove tool. Do not adjust nut "B".

7. Tighten nut "A" without moving nut "B". Tighten to 10-15 N-m(7-11 lb-ft).

8. Adjust wide-open throttle position as outlined.
