Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect battery cables, then remove battery from vehicle. Pump brake pedal several times to exhaust any vacuum in the booster.
2. Remove master cylinder from vehicle.
3. Disconnect rubber hose connecting intake manifold to power brake unit.
4. Remove spring clip in brake pedal clevis pin.
5. Remove brake pedal clevis pin, then brake pedal pushrod from brake pedal.
6. Remove power brake unit attaching nuts, then power brake unit from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure proper clearance between pushrod and master cylinder exists.
b. Torque booster to dash panel retaining nuts to 14-19 ft lb.
c. Torque master cylinder retaining nuts to 8-12 ft lb.
