Removal and Installation
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove brake pads.
3. Remove clip retaining the brake flex hose to the strut assembly.
4. Remove the banjo bolt retaining the brake flex hose to the caliper assembly.
5. Remove the two copper washers that seal the flex hose banjo fitting, then discard washers.
6. Remove the lower caliper retaining bolt.
7. Using a cold chisel, remove the upper caliper guide pin dust cap. This will allow access to the allen head on the guide pin.
8. Using an allen wrench, loosen and remove the upper caliper guide pin.
9. Lift the caliper off the rotor.
10. Remove the guide pin and guide pin bushing dust boots from caliper assembly.
11. Lubricate the guide pin and guide pin bushing with a suitable disc brake caliper slide grease.
12. Install the guide pin and guide pin bushing dust boots.
13. Install the brake pads and shims.
14. Position the caliper over the rotor. To provide the necessary clearance, it may be necessary to rotate the caliper piston.
15. Tighten the upper guide pin, then install the dust cap with a plastic hammer.
16. Install the lower caliper retaining bolt through the lower caliper guide pin bushing. Torque the lower retaining bolt to 29-36 ft lb.
17. Install the flex hose banjo bolt with two new copper washers onto the brake flex hose.
18. Position the flex hose on the caliper, Torque banjo bolt to 17-21 ft lb.
19. Perform brake bleeding procedures, then install wheel and tire assembly.
