DISASSEMBLEExploded View Of Valve Body, (Part 1 Of 2):
Exploded View Of Valve Body, (Part 2 Of 2):
NOTE: Refer to the Exploded Views Of Valve Body images during disassembling and assembling procedures.
CAUTION: Each valve body bolt has a letter on the bolt head which matches the letter placed near the bolt hole.
1. Remove 3-4 solenoid valve and lockup solenoid valve.
2. Remove 0-rings and oil strainers.
3. Remove 1-2 solenoid valve, 2-2 solenoid valve, and wire harness.
4. Remove front attaching bolts, then pull out front control body and premain separator as a unit.
5. Remove front premain gaskets and separator from control body.
Relief Valves And Spring Location Premain Control Body:
6. Remove orifice check valve and spring from premain control body.
7. Remove attaching bolts and hexagonal head bolt, then the premain control body and main separator as a unit.
8. Remove premain main gaskets and separator from premain control body.
Relief Valve And Check Ball Location From Premain Control Body:
9. Remove orifice check valves, springs, throttle relief ball, and spring from premain control body.
Relief Valve And Spring Location From Main Control Body:
10. Remove converter relief ball, spring, orifice check valves, and spring from main control body.
11. Turn assembly over and remove bolts, then the rear separator.
12. Remove main/rear gaskets and separator from rear control body.
Relief Valve And Spring Location From Rear Control Body:
13. Remove orifice check valves and spring from rear control body.
Relief Valve And Rubber Ball Location From Main Control Body:
14. Remove orifice check valves, springs, and rubber ball from main control body.
Overhaul Premain Control Body
Exploded View Of Premain Control Body:
1. Disassemble premain control body as shown in the Exploded View Of Premain Control Body image.
2. Inspect all components for excessive wear or damage and replace as necessary.
3. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Apply clean automatic transaxle fluid to all 0-rings prior to installation.
b. Torque bolts for both accumulator plates to 57-69 in lbs.
Overhaul Main Control Body
Exploded View Of Main Control Body:
1. Disassemble main control body as shown in the Exploded View Of Main Control Body image.
2. Inspect all components for excessive wear or damage and replace as necessary.
3. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Ensure groove is aligned with bolt hole when installing throttle plug assembly.
b. Torque throttle cam to main control body bolts.
Overhaul Rear Control Body
Exploded View Of Rear Control Body:
1. Disassemble rear control body as shown in the Exploded View Of Rear Control Body image.
2. Inspect all components for excessive wear or damage and replace as necessary.
3. Reverse procedure to assemble. Install stopper plug large end first.
ASSEMBLE
NOTE: Refer to the Exploded Views Of Valve Body images for assembling procedure.
CAUTION: When assembling valve body, do not mix up front and rear gaskets.
Bolt Head Letter Location:
CAUTION: Ensure bolt head letter and control valve body letter match.
1. Install orifice check valves and springs in rear control body.
2. Install gaskets on both sides of rear separator, then install onto rear control body.
CAUTION: The rear gasket and main rear gasket are not interchangeable.
3. Install orifice check valves springs and rubber ball in main control body.
4. Install rear control body to main control body.
5. Loosely tighten rear control body bolts.
CAUTION: Ensure bolt head letter matches letter on valve body.
6. Turn assembly over, then install orifice check valves springs, converter relief ball, and spring in main control body.
7. Install orifice check valves, springs, throttle relief ball, and spring in premain control body.
8. Install gaskets on both sides of main separator, then install onto premain control body.
CAUTION: Premain rear gasket and main front gasket are not interchangeable.
9. Set premain control body onto main control body.
10. Loosely tighten premain control body bolts.
CAUTION: Ensure bolt head letter matches letter on valve body.
11. Install orifice check valve and spring in premain control body.
12. Install gaskets on both sides of premain separator, then install on front control body.
CAUTION: Front gasket and premain front gasket are not interchangeable.
13. Install front control body on premain control body.
14. Loosely tighten front control body bolts.
CAUTION: Ensure bolt head letter matches letter on valve body.
15. Install two valve body mounting bolts for alignment.
16. Install front and rear control valve body mounting bolts. Torque bolts to 57-69 in lbs.
17. Install 3-4 solenoid valve and 2-3 solenoid valve with new 0-rings and oil strainer. Torque solenoid valve bolts to 57-69 in lbs.
18. Install brackets and wire harness.
