G4AEL / 4EAT Pinched Solenoid Wires
The following codes can be caused by one or more of the solenoid wires being pinched between the valve body and the case.
60 - Shorted or open 1-2 shift solenoid
61 - Shorted or open 2-3 shift solenoid
62 - Shorted or open 3-4 shift solenoid
63 - Shorted or open look-up solenoid
It can be very difficult using the original bracket locations to route the wires in a safe area of the valve body. The following figures show the proper way to route the wires using the original brackets. Using this method, it is impossible to pinch the solenoid wires between the valve body and case.
Note
Solenoid resistance is 13-27 ohms.
