Fuel Vapor Valve

PURPOSE

the Fuel Vapor Valve is used to prevent liquid fuel from flowing to the fuel vapor canister.

OPERATION

Fuel vapor in the fuel tank (9002) is vented through the fuel vapor valve (9B593) to the fuel vapor canister (9D653). The fuel vapor valve is mounted on top of the fuel tank. A vapor space between the fuel level and the fuel tank upper surface is combined with a small orifice and float shut-off valve in the fuel vapor valve to prevent fuel from flowing to the fuel vapor canister. The vapor space also allows for thermal expansion of the fuel.
