Fuel Return Line: Description and Operation
PURPOSE
The Fuel Return Lines are used to maintain fuel flow at the fuel charging assembly.
OPERATION
The fuel lines leading from the fuel tank to the engine are under pressure during vehicle operation. Fuel pressure is controlled by a fuel pressure regulator mounted at the return side of the fuel injection supply manifold. Fuel not used by the fuel injectors during operation is routed back to the fuel tank through the Fuel Return Line.
NOTE: All fuel lines run parallel to each other underneath the LH side of the vehicle.
