Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Service and Repair/Fuel System Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301).





3. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
4. Disconnect the fuel return line from the fuel pressure regulator (9C968).

Fuel Pressure Regulator:

5. Remove the fuel pressure regulator bolts and remove the fuel pressure regulator and O-rings. Discard the O-rings.

Installation

1. Install a new O-rings onto the fuel pressure regulator.
2. Place the fuel pressure regulator into its mounting position and install the fuel pressure regulator bolts. Tighten the fuel pressure regulator bolts to 69-95 in lb (8-11 Nm).
3. Connect the fuel return line to the fuel pressure regulator.
4. Connect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
6. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks (Run engine at idle 2 minutes while checking for leaks).
