Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type while working on or near any fuel related component(s).REMOVAL
1. Depressurize the fuel system see Service and Repair/Fuel System Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Remove throttle body.
4. Remove fuel inlet line from fuel rail.
NOTE: Use a rag as protection from the fuel spray when disconnecting the hoses. Plug the hoses after disconnection.
5. Disconnect fuel return line from fuel rail.
6. Remove electrical connectors at injectors.
7. Remove pressure regulator.
8. Remove attaching bolts and fuel rail.
9. Remove injectors.
10. Remove injector O-rings.
INSTALL
1. Install new O-rings onto injectors and lubricate with clean engine oil.
2. Position injectors into cylinder head.
3. Position fuel rail onto and install attaching bolts. Torque to 19 - 25 Nm (14 - 19 ft lb).
5. Install electrical connectors to injectors.
4. Install fuel return line onto pressure regulator.
6. Install fuel supply line onto fuel rail.
7. Install throttle body.
