Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Relieve fuel system pressure, refer to Service and Repair / Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure. Fuel Pressure Release
2. Verify the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
3. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.
4. Remove the three retaining screws from the regulator housing and discard the screws.
5. Remove the pressure regulator assembly, gasket and O-ring. Discard the O-ring and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate a new O-ring with clean engine oil and install it on the pressure regulator.
2. Ensure that the gasket sealing surfaces of the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel supply manifold are clean.
3. Install a new O-ring and gasket on the fuel pressure regulator.
4. Using new allen head screws, install the pressure regulator on the fuel supply manifold. Tighten the three new screws to 3.0-4.5 Nm (27-40 lb in).
5. Install the fuel injection supply manifold assembly.
6. Start the engine and run it for two minutes.
7. Check for fuel leaks.
