Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair
REMOVALNOTE: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
Fuel Charging Harness:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Disconnect two fuel charging wiring connectors from the EEC-IV harness at the right-hand shock tower.
3. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the four fuel injector electrical cable.
5. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector. Remove the tie-wrap and connector from the valve assembly.
6. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
8. Unclip the fuel charging wiring from the fuel injection supply manifold.
9. Remove the fuel charging wiring by carefully pulling it through the intake manifold toward the right-hand shock tower.
