NOTE: You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when checking computed timing, or you have been directed here from Quick Test.


REMEMBER


To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-EEC areas may be at fault.

- Base engine

- Crankshaft Position Sensor

- EDIS module


This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose only the following:


- Harness circuit: SAW

- Base timing

- Processor assembly


DESCRIPTION

The Spark Angle Width (SAW) is a digital signal generated by the EEC-IV processor which supplies spark timing information to the EDIS module. Normally there will be one and only one SAW pulse for each PIP pulse.
