Manual Transaxle

OPERATION
Voltage is present at the Ignition Switch contacts and Starter Assembly contacts at all times.

With the Ignition Switch in "START", and the Clutch Start Switch closed, current flows through the Ignition Switch, the Clutch Start Switch, and the Starter Assembly to ground. The Starter Assembly Pull-in and Hold windings are energized and the Starter Assembly contacts close. Current now flows from the Battery to the Starter Assembly, and the Starter Motor runs to crank the engine.

Circuit 5 (BK/DB) provides a "key-in-start" input to the Instrument Cluster; circuit 6 (BK/R) energizes the Starter Assembly Pull-in and hold windings, providing a "cranking" signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Fuel Pump Relay.
