Hazard Warning Lamps: Description and Operation

OPERATION
Voltage is present at the Multi-function Switch at all times through the HAZARD Fuse and circuit 360 (BK/R).

Pulling the Hazard Switch knob upward causes the Multi-function Switch HAZARD contacts to close. Current flows through the HAZARD Fuse, circuit 360 (BK/R), the Multi-function Switch, circuit 361 (DG/Y), the Electronic Flasher, the Multi-function Switch, and circuits 363 (DG/W) and 364 (DG/BK) to the Right and Left Turn Indicators and turn signal bulbs.

The Electronic Flasher intermittently interrupts current flow to make all bulbs flash.
