Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. Remove brake pads.
2. Using a pair of needle nose vise grips, clamp the center of the brake flex hose to prevent leakage of brake fluid.
3. Remove the banjo bolt retaining the brake flex hose to the caliper.
4. Disconnect the brake hose from the caliper and discard the two copper washers.
5. Remove the two caliper retaining bolts, then caliper assembly from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the caliper and install the two caliper mounting bolts. Torque caliper mounting bolts to 29-36 ft. lbs.
2. Install two new copper washers to the brake hose.
3. Position the brake hose onto the caliper, then install the banjo bolt. Torque banjo bolt to 16-22 ft. lbs.
4. Remove needle nose vise grips from brake flex hose.
5. Install brake pads as previously outlined in this section.
6. Correct brake fluid level in master cylinder as necessary.
7. Perform system brake bleeding procedures.
