Shift Point Road Tests
ROAD TESTShift Points Chart:
NOTE: Minimum throttle upshifts should be checked in Drive. Transaxle should start in first gear, shift to second, and shift to third according to specifications in the Shift Points Chart.
1. With transaxle in third gear, fully depress accelerator pedal. Transaxle should shift from third to second or third to first, depending on vehicle speed.
2. Closed throttle downshifts from third to first are checked by coasting down from 30 MPH in third gear. Downshifts should occur within the limits indicated in the Shift Points Chart.
3. With selector lever in gear range 2, transaxle will operate in first and second gear. With vehicle speed over 30 mph and transaxle in third gear, transaxle should shift to second gear when selector lever is moved from Drive to 2, to 1.
NOTE: These checks indicate if governor pressure and shift control valves are functioning correctly.
