Lock-Out Switch Test

1. After the drive belt has been replaced, with the shoulder belt laying on the work bench with the lock-out switch face down, move the shoulder belt carrier to the B-pillar position.

2. Pull the belt carrier upward and try to move it forward past the lock-out switch. The belt carrier should not pass by the lock-out switch.

a. If the belt carrier does not pass by the lock-out switch, the lock-out switch is working properly.
b. If the belt carrier does pass by the lock-out switch, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPOSITION THE SWITCH. REPLACE THE SWITCH.

NOTE: The switch may have been damaged when the drive belt was stripped/kinked.

3. If the belt carrier passes by the new replacement lock-out switch, the new switch may require repositioning as follows:
a. Loosen the two screws retaining the lock-out switch to the track and reposition the switch. Tighten the retaining screws.
b. Repeat Step 2.
4. After repairing the track assembly, reposition the ends of the dust seals.

NOTE: Failure to test switch continuity may result in eventual drive belt damage.

5. Test the continuity for the A-pillar and B-pillar limit switches.
6. Install the track assembly in the vehicle.
