Child Seat Tether Attachment: Service and Repair
Child Tether Hardware
1. Pierce a small locator hole upwards through the flat area of trim panel behind rear seat.
CAUTION: Exercise care to prevent hitting the rear window glass, as it could shatter.
WARNING: AN ASSISTANT MUST BE INSIDE THE VEHICLE HOLDING THE REAR SEAT TRIM PANEL DOWN TO PREVENT IT FROM BEING DISLODGED. ALSO AVOID HOLDING IT DOWN IN THE AREA THAT THE HOLE IS BEING PIERCED TO AVOID INJURY.
2. From inside vehicle, enlarge the pierced hole in trim panel to about 9 mm (0.35 inch) until tether attachment bolt supplied in kit fits.
3. Install tether anchor hardware as shown. Tighten tether bolt to 22-34 Nm (17-25 lb-ft).
