Air Injection: Description and Operation

Pulse Air System:

The Pulse Air (PA) system is designed to help in the reduction of HC and CO emissions, by supplying additional oxygen into the exhaust system. This allows the hot exhaust gases to continue the combustion process of remaining unburned air/fuel charge, and to begin oxidizing HC and CO emissions. The system utilizes a silencer/filter in the air stream to minimize noise, two check valves to prevent exhaust gas backup into the air system, and hoses to draw outside air through the air cleaner.
