Floor Shift Lever And Housing

REMOVAL
1. Remove the console assembly.

Shift Lever Housing Assembly:






2. Remove the shift knob and bezel assembly.
3. Remove the transaxle shift cable retaining screws from the lever and housing assembly.
4. Pull the cable from the plastic snap retainer on the assembly.
5. Remove the key interlock cable retaining screw from the shifter housing and slide the cable out of the shifter interlock cam.
6. Remove the four bolts retaining the lever and housing assembly to the floorpan. Remove the assembly.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the control cable assembly into the lever and housing assembly and install the retaining screws.
2. Snap the cable end into the plastic snap retainer on the lever housing assembly.
3. Install the lever and housing assembly onto the floorpan and secure it with four bolts. Tighten the bolts to 6-8 Nm (4-6 ft lb).
4. Connect the interlock cable to the shifter interlock cam. Install the cable retaining screw.
5. Position the bezel assembly on the lever and housing assembly. Secure it with four screws.
6. Install the console on the lever and housing assembly with two screws.
7. Install the shift knob.
8. Adjust the control linkage.
9. Check the transaxle operation in each selector lever detent position.
