Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

Evaporative Emission System (Unleaded Gasoline Only):

1. Disconnect the vapor hoses from the canister.
2. Remove the screw securing the canister to the bracket or fender apron.
3. Lift up on the canister to disengage the tab on the back side, then remove the canister from the vehicle.
4. Insert the tab at the back of the carbon canister into the slot on the vehicle.
5. Align the screw hole and install the screw, torquing it to 45-75 lb. in. (5.1-8.5 N-m).
6. Connect the vapor hoses.
