Removal

1. Remove axle shaft and position on workbench.
2. Using a thin blade cold chisel between sensor ring and axle flange, strike evenly around flange, forcing indicator ring off of sensor ring journal. Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool. Extreme care must be taken not to scratch or nick wheel bearing and seal journal.

Installation

1. Prior to installation of new ring, remove any burrs or nicks from journal.
2. Position indicator ring installation tool No. T89P-20202-A or equivalent, on press with pilot ring facing down.
3. Place new indicator ring over installation tool and insert axle shaft through tool.
4. Place spacer tool No. T85T-4616-AH or equivalent, over hub end of axle shaft.
5. Press axle shaft until it bottoms out on axle flange.
6. Install axle shaft on vehicle.
